As London fashion week quickly approaches, we wanted to give you an idea of what to expect this season. Every season gives us a peak at the next years upcoming trends, but it also highlights the up and coming names in fashion.
During fashion week, we can always anticipate some top graduate fashion shows. Highlighting the collections coming from recent graduates of the top fashion universities, shining a spotlight onto names we might expect to see come into the industry.
The British fashion council runs the ‘discovery labs’ every year at London fashion week. Presenting a range of new and upcoming designers, with displays of their collections. This is perfect for designers to present to possible buyers, and showcase their collection to press and photographers.
We can also expect to see pop-up shop launches, again allowing those in the industry to celebrate the launch and explore the collection. This is a great opportunity to network, and create possible opportunities in the future with new connections.
Fashion week in London is a huge spotlight for British talent new and old. Seeing collections from long-standing British icons, such as Vivienne Westwood, to newer brands that are establishing their style. Some names to look out for at this season's shows are Daniel W Fletcher and Simone Rocha.
For many, fashion week is a great chance to take note of the trends to expect within the next year. We are predicting a lot of bold prints and colour in this seasons shows, going along with the recent trend of clashing fabrics and pattern.
There’s definitely going to be a whole range of events this season. Installations and press presentations, where the newest collections can be photographed. Sometimes there are chances to talk to the designer and ask a few questions in this intimate presentation setting.
Then of course the runway shows, which are the most highly anticipated events. It’s the time to finally see the new collection and what the designers have been working on up until this moment.
